We live in the Pacific Northwest and so we’re all aware that moss is a real issue, especially on the western side of the Cascades. With the proper method, moss is easy to remove and isn’t really an issue.
Another issue is weed growth. A common misconception is that weeds grow up from underneath the pavers. This is almost an impossibility with the 4”-12” of compacted gravel beneath them. The reality is that weeds come from seeds deposited on the surface of the pavers that take root in the joint sand. Again, with the proper method, weeds are easily dealt with.
