Hardscape Olympics
- These events are first come, first serve, so if you want to compete, reserve a spot today!
- NOTE: We have a $100 per team member, fully refundable deposit to hold your spot in the competitions. If you show up to compete, we’ll fully refund your money. If you do not show up to compete, you forfeit the money. Here’s the cost breakdown:
- Paver Laying $200/team
- Chateau Shot Put $100/participant
- Packing Relay $200/team

Competition Details
- Paver Laying Competition
- Who can lay a 10×10 patio of Holland Stone in Herringbone pattern with a square 48″ Chateau fire pit in the center?
- Competition is limited to six (6) teams of two (2), first-come, first-serve.
- NO TOOLS WILL BE PROVIDED. Whatever tools you show up with will be the tools used in the competition. We recommend bringing: Shovels, level, screed board, screed rails, compactor, string line, or anything else that you think you might need.
- Each team’s score will be calculated based on completion time, compliance with industry guidelines, safety, quality, and craftsmanship.
- First place gets a great grand prize and an awesome belt buckle.
- Second and third places receive awesome belt buckles.
- Chateau Shot Put
- Each contestant gets three shot put throws.
- The block must be pushed from the shoulder with one hand.
- Crossing the throwing line results in a foul.
- Distance is measured from the throwing line to the blocks first point of contact.
- The longest legal throw wins.
- Packing Relay
- Two teammates, one pallet of product, and an obstacle course in your way.
- Competition is limited to ten (10) teams of two (2),first-come, first-serve.
- One contestant at a time carries product through the obstacle course.
- Each piece must be stacked securely on the pallet—no tossing or sloppy piles.
- Once the first contestant finishes, the second carries it back to the starting pallet.
- Dropped product must be picked up before continuing.
- Fastest time takes the victory.
